The Rocky Mountain Horse Show Association was formed in 1951 by seven Rocky Mountain-area horsemen and horsewomen. Most of our current members are descendants, students, mentees, or one-time clients of the founding members. Two-thirds of a century later, the objectives of RMHSA's founders remain important for the equine industry in our area and are outlined below.

Our Mission:

1. To promote the education of the people of the Rocky Mountains area in the breeding, care, use, handling, and development of horses and horsemanship.

2. To encourage good sportsmanship and proper conduct among horsemen, horsewomen and children, and to foster good fellowship among all people interested in horses.

3. To ensure proper and human handling and care of horses and to prevent cruelty to animals.

4. To assist in establishing a horse show circuit and a calendar in the Rocky Mountain area.
